What is Spinal Flow, exactly?
Spinal Flow is a hands-on technique developed over more than 20 years of clinical practice by Dr. Carli Axford, a chiropractor based in Australia.
The foundation is simple: your nervous system controls the function of every cell, tissue, organ, and system in your body. When stress, injury, or chronic strain builds up over time, it creates blockages along the spine. Places where the nervous system can't communicate freely. Over time, that shows up as pain, illness, anxiety, fatigue, and a body that just won't seem to get better no matter what you try.
Spinal Flow works by locating those blockages and gently releasing them, using light touch on specific access points along the spine and at the base of the skull. Your body does the actual work. The practitioner just creates the conditions for it to happen.
This is not chiropractic. There is no cracking, no manipulation, no adjustment. You remain fully clothed on a table. The touch is light. Most people are deeply relaxed within minutes.
It is also not energy healing. It is the activation of your body's own nervous system, your own biology, doing what it already knows how to do.

What actually happens during a session?
You arrive, you lie fully clothed on the table, face down with optional bolsters that gently support your sacrum, and you relax while listening to gentle music. I work along your spine using light touch, locating the areas of ease and access to the nervous system. Some people feel a wave-like motion begin in their body. Others experience deeper breathing, warmth, emotional release, or simply fall into the most relaxed state they've been in for months.
Sessions are 30 minutes. That's not a lot of time, but as one client put it: "I've never had that short of a massage and gotten the same results. Usually, I feel cheated. Not with Spinal Flow."
Your first session is different. The initial appointment is 1.5 hours and includes a full assessment. We review your intake forms, I feel the specific areas of your spine, we talk through what I find and what your body is telling us. That's followed by your first 30-minute session. You'll leave knowing more about what your body has been carrying than you've probably known in years.
Real people. Real results.
I don't share these to make promises. I share them because if you've tried everything and been told there's nothing more that can be done — you deserve to know what's possible.
Client: Janet
Condition: Chronic back pain for 15+ years
following a traumatic injury and fall.
Doctors and specialists had been unable to help. After her very first session, Janet went home and purged. Two days later she came back reporting no pain. She told me she had been completely skeptical walking in, and couldn't believe how she felt walking out.
After 12 sessions, Janet reported improvements in:
→ Sleep
→ Walking
→ Flexibility
→ Sitting
→ Family life
→ Pain management
→ Emotional stress
"I was really skeptical on my first visit — but by the third session, I'd received such pain relief that I'm still continuing. I'm so glad I tried this technique, and I hope others will too."
Client: Stepanie
Condition: Severe mold exposure.
The left side of her body was constantly swollen.
Multiple doctors and treatments had not helped.
After 12 sessions, she reported:
→ More mobility
→ Less soreness and achiness
→ Improved drainage
→ Feeling more calm
→ More energy and optimism
"Spinal Flow feels like a piece of my healing journey
that I didn't know I needed. Reassurance to my body
that it is safe to heal."

"Thank you so much for everything today. All the things. I feel so so much better than I have felt in weeks. The constant anxious feeling buzzing under my skin is gone. My ride home was not stressful at all and I just have a much less stressed feeling — and of course my back feels great. More Spinal Flow and less of everything else! Except the beach."
— A client who drives from Pennsylvania for every session
This is why I do this work. It doesn't take long. Your body already knows how to heal. I just help it remember.

Most Spinal Flow practices run two or three tables at once. There's a reason for that.
Spinal Flow is not a massage. It is not a private therapy session. It is nervous system work, and nervous systems respond to their environment.
When healing is already happening in a room, something in your own nervous system recognizes it. The space feels safe. Your body relaxes faster. The work goes deeper.
Most of my clients who have experienced a session alongside someone else tell me they didn't notice the other person after the first minute. What they noticed was how they felt when they left.
Think of it like yoga, or Pilates, or physical therapy. Those aren't done one-on-one by default and neither is this. The practice is the same. The results are the same or better. The room just holds more healing.
Right now I have two tables and a vision: to fill this room with people who are ready to do something different. If you're one of them, you're welcome here..

How many sessions will I need?
This is the question I hear most, and I want to answer it honestly.
One session can feel remarkable. But one session rarely creates
lasting change — for the same reason going to the gym once
doesn't get you fit. Your nervous system has spent years
building up these patterns. Releasing them takes repetition.
For new clients, I recommend starting with an intensive:
two sessions per week for six weeks. That rhythm gives your
nervous system enough input to start building a new pattern,
rather than just temporarily releasing pressure and snapping back.
After the intensive, what comes next is body-led. Some people feel
significantly better and reduce to monthly maintenance. Some feel
so well that they don't come back, and that is a genuine success story.
Others make Spinal Flow a regular part of their wellness practice
because they know what a regulated body feels like
and they don't want to lose it.
Results vary. Some clients notice change quickly; for others it takes longer.
Every nervous system is different.

Common Questions
Does it hurt? No. Spinal Flow is genuinely gentle. There is no cracking, no adjustment, no manipulation. The touch is light. Most people are deeply relaxed within the first few minutes, and many describe the experience as the most relaxed they've felt in years.
————————————————
I'm skeptical. Is this legitimate? That's a fair question, and I'd rather you ask it than pretend it away. Spinal Flow was developed by Dr. Carli Axford, a licensed chiropractor, over more than 20 years of clinical practice. It is founded on the well-established science of the nervous system and its connection to spinal health. I'm insured through a comprehensive bodywork policy that covers it as a recognized modality. One of my favorite things a client ever said: "I was really skeptical on my first visit, but by the third I had such pain relief that I'm still coming." Skeptics are welcome here.
————————————————
What should I wear? Loose, comfortable clothing. Avoid jeans, cargo pants, and very tight leggings if you can. You stay fully clothed the entire session.
————————————————
Will there be other people in the room? Possibly, yes. That's intentional. Most Spinal Flow practices run two or three tables simultaneously. Your session is your session — I am focused on you — but there may be another client on the second table at the same time. Clients who've experienced this tell me they don't notice the other person after the first minute. What they notice is how they feel when they leave. If you have questions about this, ask me on the free consultation call.
————————————————
Do I need to commit to a full intensive right away? No. You can start with a single session or the Starter Pack (3 sessions) and decide from there. I recommend the twice-a-week intensive because it's where the real change happens. But it's always your choice, and we'll talk through what makes sense for your life on the consult call.
————————————————
Is Spinal Flow safe for children? Yes. Children often respond faster than adults. I've worked with teenagers and am happy to see younger clients. If your child is under 18, a parent or guardian must be present and sign the waiver.
————————————————
What if symptoms get worse before they get better? This can happen, and it's normal. Your body is releasing layers of stress and tension that have built up over time. Sometimes that process stirs things up before it settles. I walk every new client through what to expect. If you ever have a reaction you're unsure about, call or text me directly. I'd much rather you reach out than Google it at midnight.

Do you only do Spinal Flow? Spinal Flow is my primary practice, but I'm also a Reiki Master. Some clients come specifically for Reiki; others use it alongside Spinal Flow. You can learn more on the Reiki page.
